Safaga, Egypt, November 11

Hardly anything to report from today! G left at around 6.45 for a 13 hour tour to the Valley of the Kings, got home 7.30 this evening tired and dusty!  He said it was most interesting, a long drive but worth it and they had lunch at a good hotel.

I’ll have to buy a postcard - am probably the only person to have travelled to Egypt and not got off the ship!

I did have a nice day, however, am feeling a lot better than yesterday and even had a glass of wine with dinner and a pre dinner gin & tonic before G got back.  Also had a hair trim!  There are two hairdressers on board - someone told me that Daryl is the best one but she wasn’t sure if it was a he or a she. Her husband said it’s a guy, with big lips and lipstick!  So I thought, that’s my guy, he’s probably a bit up there with styles etc.  So yesterday I made an appointment, explained to him what I’d want etc and I went to the salon this morning to be told it’s his morning off!  The other guy, I’d call him creeping Jesus, came to me and said ‘Miss Maureen, you have an appointment’ to which I replied yes, but it’s with Daryl.  CJ looks SO boring, I doubt I’d even be able to communicate with him so I expressed my disappointment and re-scheduled for the afternoon.  All good, Daryl is very sweet and gentle, and I’m reasonably happy with the cut - always a risk on ships!!!

I had a bookclub book to finish before Monday so am almost there with that.  Was nice, again, to be on the ship with so few people around.  Tomorrow and the following 3 days will be busy with no ports until 17 November.

Sorry this is rather trivial tonight - maybe tomorrow we’ll run into pirates or something!!
