The Red Sea November 15

Well, here we go again, another sea day!  It’s probably time we had an excursion again for an opportunity to walk off those extra kilos put on by all the food! At noon today nearest land was Ethiopia on the starboard side.  We are still in pirate territory and the ship is moving along at a fast rate of knots!  Overtook at least 3 huge container ships during the day.  It’s been windy and very hot all day, the very top deck was closed due wind.

Hardly anything to report really, after breakfast I did head to the theatre to watch a cooking competition called Iron Chef!  Three officers competed, included Staff Captain Marco, Food and Beverage Director Luca and George’s mate the General Manager, Andreas.  Andreas is the officer to whom complaints are made.

Was well done, they picked three people from the audience to sit at a table and judge - they were served all three dishes, all a different kind of pasta.  The three chefs are Italian so of course there was a lot of theatrics as you can imagine.

Lunch in the buffet was lovely, at least I thought so, and during the afternoon I met with Jan from Melbourne to teach her how to play mahjong. She picked it up quickly and we’ll do it again tomorrow.

Off to dinner shortly, we just go straight to the restaurant unlike most others who meet up in various lounges to have a drink and socialise. I think 62 days will seem like 162 at the end of the cruise.

The show was fabulous - a British singer Lorraine Brown.  Can’t describe how good she was.
