Cruising the Arafura Sea, December 21
Well the clocks changed again last night, forward by half an hour! Has been keeping us busy with all the time changes as we head towards home!
It’s really hard to write about a day when you’ve done pretty much nothing! A light breakfast then some domestic chores before lunch and after that I sat on the top deck in slightly cooler conditions with my new bookclub book ‘A Walk in the Woods’ by Bill Bryson. First it was warm then the wind came up, next we had a sprinkling of rain before the heavens opened for about 10 minutes! But most people stayed as it was still quite lovely until all of a sudden there was a huge gust of wind which sent us all indoors! The skies are stormy looking and I think we’re in for a dumping before too long.
A lot of people, as I’ve said before, seem to be frantically busy doing all kinds of things. The other day I was trying to FaceTime and went to the observation lounge at around 11 to find 10 people learning to dance the Samba. Back to the card room where several people were playing bridge. Then on to the Meridian Lounge - Bingo was taking place. Next stop was the main reception area but the Ring Toss (whatever that is) between crew and passengers was causing much laughter and noise so I ended up back in our suite and by then the wifi had gone off!! And that’s only a small selection of daily options. I’m not complaining, I actually do stop to count my blessings that I’m able to do this and I’m also grateful not to be battling the crowds at shopping centres. And getting lost in the carpark.
Had dinner at the pool grill but since we had Indian for lunch there wasn’t much room left for a big meal so it was salad, and delicious too.
I’ll go to the show shortly but post this while I have wifi. There were a few complaints this morning about the late edition!!!! No names.
